The Hogg Mine is a federally permitted mine. Trespassing at the mine is a felony charge. Do NOT visit unless:

you have permission.

you have a scheduled Guide dig through the contact form or

you are visiting on a public dig date (see Dig Dates) ​



Directions





FROM I-85 S (From Atlanta)



  • Take Exit 13 and turn left onto 219 (Whitesville Road).
  • You should now be heading south on 219.
  • Stay south on 219 for about 3.5 miles.
  • As soon as you pass mile marker 5 (on your left) the entrance will be the first driveway on the right.​


FROM I-85 N (To Atlanta)



  • Take Exit 13 and turn right onto 219 (Whitesville Road).
  • You should now be heading south on 219.
  • Stay south on 219 for about 3.5 miles.
  • As soon as you pass mile marker 5 (on your left) the entrance will be the first driveway on the right.


FROM I-185 N (From Columbus)



  • Take Exit 30 and turn left onto 219 (Whitesville Road).
  • You should now be heading north on 219.
  • Stay North on 219 for about 9.3 miles
  • The entrance to the mine will be on the left
